ART PIECE

I created this with scrap wood the day after the Covenant School shooting in Tennessee.

The left squares represent normalcy, the day to day, what is expected.
The first turned square is the moment when violence enters and changes everything.
Chaos and destruction ensues.
Leaving everyone in its path changed forever.
The six mahogany strips at the bottom represent the six beautiful souls lost in the Covenant School shooting.
One strip at the bottom is extra-long drawing us out into the future.
It is like the long beep at the end of an EKG as a heart flat lines.
Even though the chaos has stopped and the dust has settled, we still hear the long beep…
